Theodotus of Ancyra (fl. first half of 5th cent.)

Greek author and bp. of Ancyra. His work against Nestorius in dialogue form ( CPG 6131), lost in Greek, is partly preserved in Syriac translation in ms. Brit. Libr. Add. 17,148 of the 7th cent. (unedited); of the three books, the first is lost, and the second not quite complete. Two of his homilies, both on the Nativity ( CPG 6125–6), were also translated into Syriac and are included in the two large homiliaries in the Syr. Orth. Patriarchate, 12/18 and 12/19, both dated 1001.
